Our Policies

What do we expect from our parents/carers?
  • To keep open communications with us directly regarding any change of arrangements i.e. going home with a friend, new collection arrangements, cancellations, etc.
  • To sign your child/children in at the start of a session, and out at the end of each session (the signing-in/out register can be found on the desk at the end of the dining room, by the fridge and fire exit doors). This is an important document and should not be signed by children for security reasons. If your child/children attends the Holiday Club you will be requested to sign them in and out. Children attending The Meadows are registered in class, the same as at school.
  • To use the intercom and buzz to speak to a member of staff before entering the school grounds, this is particularly important for security and safeguarding. Please be reminded that you must buzz before entering even if the gate is open, or if you are entering at the same time as another parent. We need to be aware at all times who is entering the setting and who is on site.
  • Do not allow children to press the release button for the gate when leaving. This is for adult use only due to security reasons.
  • Casual Bookings can be made via The Meads Office, where we will be able to confirm that there is a space on the day/days required. We have to adhere to a strict staff : child ratio, and casual spaces are often dependent on cancelled bookings and staff availability.
  • To pay all invoices promptly to save administration time and cost. Payment is due in advance of any sessions booked. Please refer to our Bookings and Payments Policy.

What do we expect from our staff?
  • The Meads Management Group follows the procedures outlined by the Hertfordshire Safeguarding Children Board, a guide to procedure and practice for all professional staff in Hertfordshire who work with children.
  • Staff are well placed to observe outward signs of abuse, changes in behaviour and failure to develop because they have daily contact with the children. They are trained in the early recognition of the signs and symptoms of abuse (i.e. physical, sexual, emotional) or neglect and to follow the appropriate referral process.
  • The Meads Management Group aims to develop an ethos in which children feel secure, their viewpoints are valued, and they are encouraged to talk and are listened to.
