Meads Staff

Our Management Committee is run by a team of Volunteers and is made up of Parents/Carers in the local community. We have a Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, and Parent Users. Each member brings their own experiences and knowledge from varied backgrounds.

Within our setting, we have a Manager, and an Admin Assistant within the office. In our Breakfast, Afterschool, and Holiday Club we have a Deputy Manager for Play, Playleaders, and Trainee Playleaders. In our Pre-Nursery we have a Pre-Nursery Leader, Assistant Pre-Nursery Leader, and Nursery Assistants.

Typically we work above the required adult to child ratio in our sessions and ensure that sufficiently trained staff are present at all times.

All of our staff are Safeguarding Trained. We are always updating our training for staff and aim to have all of our staff First Aid, Food Hygiene, and Health & Safety Trained.

Laura - Senior Level 3 Playleader

Hi, I’m really looking forward to spending some time back in Meadows over the next few weeks. I currently work in the Breakfast and After School Club as part of The Meads. I studied my Level 3 in Childcare and Education at Hertford Regional College and now have over 5 years of experience with working with children. Outside of work I spend a lot of time with my young cousins and my Goddaughter.

Qualified Playleaders
We have a team of staff who are qualified to Level 2, Level 3, or NNEB in Childcare related subjects. These staff work across the setting throughout the week. Our qualified staff work closely with our EYFS children, and help our Senior Level 3 Playleader to carry out observations on EYFS children who use our wrap-around care throughout the year.

We also currently have two staff who are in training, working towards their Level 3, who assist with carrying out observations and activities alongside the rest of the staffing team.

Playleaders & Trainee Playleaders
We have a team of Playleaders and Trainee Playleaders who work throughout the week. Most of our Playleaders are at school or college themselves, and they work one or two nights per week. They work with our other staff to look after the children in our setting and help to plan activities, as well as preparing tea.
