The Meadows Pre-Nursery is run by The Meads Management Group (MMG), and is located at Mill Mead School, Hertford. We offer a safe, inspiring, environment that delivers flexible term-time care and education for children aged 3 years, up to Reception. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum, and children are encouraged to learn through play, engaging with each other and the world around them.
The Meadows is open during term-time only.
Children can attend our setting for AM Sessions or PM Sessions. Lunch Club is available and can be paired with either a morning or afternoon session; this can also be used to make a Full Day. Our session timings are as follows:
AM Session: 9.00am - 11.30am
Lunch Club: 11.30am - 1.00pm
PM Session: 1.00pm - 3.30pm
Full Day (all sessions above): 9.00am - 3.30pm
Sessions are booked in advance for the term, and sessions are for one term only. This allows parents / carers flexibility to adjust sessions throughout the year, to suit their own needs.
Our room is equipped with a vast range of exciting and engaging resources, reflecting the areas of learning that support the early years foundation stage curriculum.
The Meadows garden is an inviting extension of our indoor learning space. This means that children can opt for indoor, or outdoor child initiated play. We also make good use of the schools fantastic facilities, such as timber trail and tyre park at our daily gross motor sessions.
Our daily routine typically includes a range of indoor and outdoor creative play activities, mark-making, dress-up, construction, sand and water play, and much more!
We believe in the importance of parent partnership and strive to keep parents and carers informed at every step along your child’s learning journey. One of the ways we do this is with a key worker approach. Each child is assigned a key worker who builds a trusting relationship with your child, enabling them to feel secure and cared for. The key worker will plan activities that are of interest to your child and will further their individual development. Weekly observations documenting your child’s progress will be available to view via the online system currently used.
If you would like to arrange a visit for you and your child, or for further information please call, 01992 582055 or email meads@millmead.herts.sch.uk
