We are writing to inform you that our Ofsted report for The Meadows setting from December has been published on the Ofsted Website. News coverage about the report will appear in the Hertfordshire Mercury, which you may see.
The Meadows is run by the Meads Management Group, which operates separately, but in close partnership with the school. The Meads setting (which provides breakfast club, after school club and holiday care) was not part of the inspection.
The care and well-being of the children is of paramount importance to us and there is a strong recognition of the really important features that you, as parents and carers would want to see in an effective setting. In particular, we welcome the acknowledgement that ‘the children are well cared for’; ‘behaviour and relationships are good’; ‘that personal development is well promoted’; the ‘children are confident and happy’ and ‘the setting has a strong partnership with Mill Mead School’.
The report suggests that certain aspects of the Meadows setting require improvement. This is an indication of how high the bar has now risen at Ofsted. We take very seriously this view and have already taken action to ensure safeguarding issues have been addressed.
The positive comments in this report, your support of the setting as shown in our own surveys, as well as our continual drive to improve will ensure that we are not complacent in our focus.
