After School Club
The Meads After School Club runs on week days during term-time from 3.15pm to 6.00pm daily. Children from Key Stage 1 & 2 are met at their classrooms and collected by a Meads Playleader. Children are registered as they are collected from their classrooms.
A rolling snack is available from 3.20pm to 3.30pm daily, this usually consists of fruit, or malt loaf, with a fruit juice, or water.
Foundation stage continue the first part of their session in the Meadows classroom and middle area. They then join the rest of the club at 4.15pm, where they begin their tea slightly earlier than the older children.
At 4.30pm Key Stage 1 & 2 have tea which is taken from our Tea Time Menu. Our Tea Menus include the following items: pitta breads, crackers, hot dogs, pitta & dips, breadds & spreads, wraps, and pizza. Foods menus are varied so different items will be on offer each day of the week. Tea is not to replace an evening meal and should be enough to fuel children until their evening meal at home.
Children are encouraged to get their own tea and wash up their own plates, bowls, cups, etc. when they have finished eating their tea. This helps the children with learning independence and teaches them essential life skills.
Children have a choice of indoor and outdoor play activities each afternoon. There are often art activities, construction activities, team games, drawing, small world play, as well as much more! The children are always given the opportunity to get alternative toys and games out.
If your child attends extra curricular clubs after school, you are required to book a session from 3.15pm to the time you will be collecting. This is so that we can guarantee your space if the club is cancelled for any reason. Please ensure that you let us know if your child will be attending an extra curricular club after school so that we know what time to expect them to arrive with us.
